Front Desk Receptionist [United Kingdom]


 

Job Type: Full-Time , 37.5 hours per week , Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity Cover)
Contract length: 3-6 months

Job Purpose

  • To carry out general receptionist and administrative tasks, answering phones, processing emails, filing, organising paperwork, cleaning in Specific Areas and on Job Specific tasks to the required standard established by the Service Level Agreement.
  • To greet visitors and clients and deliver the highest standards of customer service and first point of contact for delegates/visitors.
  • To take part and effectively engage in employee training and having a full understanding of Health and Safety, Food safety, COSHH, Cleaning methods, and Site Specifics Procedures.
  • To assist in the day-to-day operation of the Reception and/or Business Event Centre.
  • Inspects the pre-set scheduled function areas/meeting rooms for cleanliness, working condition and proper furniture/equipment set up; reports any deficiencies.
  • To assist with the lifting and movement of furniture for preparation of meetings.
  • To ensure a high standard of personal hygiene is always maintained and that uniform provided and specified is worn with care to being clean and ironed.
  • To deal with any complaints / issues from customers immediately and report directly to Front of House Manager / Reception Supervisor.
  • To perform miscellaneous tasks as instructed by the Reception Supervisor / Front of House Manager / General Manager.
  • To be flexible to work additional hours to cover holiday and sickness within the team.
  • To always work, with awareness of surroundings and behaviour required, plus security procedures in place.

The role is dependant on candidates completing a successful DBS check.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • To have excellent customer service skills.
  • Experience with delivering a hospitality offer.
  • Ability to prioritise and organise workloads.
  • Effective communicator both orally and in writing.
  • To demonstrate an excellent telephone manner.
  • Friendly & approachable with a “can do” attitude.
  • Ability to work with within a team and independently with a flexible approach.
  • Ability to use IT and maintain data (Microsoft Office and Company Systems).
  • To be flexible to cover holidays and absence.
