I am an 18 year old male who lives with Epilepsy. I am non verbal and require support with all daily living tasks. I need my PA to work alongside my existing PA to support me with feeding, taking my medication, changing my continence pads and assisting me to get ready for bed. My PA will need to have good communication skills and ideally have experience of using a hoist.

My assistant must be honest, trustworthy, and reliable, must respect my privacy and maintain my dignity at all times.
My assistant must be enthusiastic and flexible with a caring disposition. You must be able to work well independently.
Experience is preferred, but not essential as full training will be provided.
Supervision
My personal assistant is accountable to me in all aspects of their work. They should always ask what my needs are and listen to my directions and requests.
Main Duties
To be at my home ready for when the school bus arrives
To assist me to change my continence pads
To support me to eat and drink
To support me with personal care and get me ready for bed
To support me with transfers using a hoist
To support me to take my epilepsy medication
The main duties identified in the job description are examples of the expectations required; I may on occasions reasonably request additional activities to be undertaken inside or outside of the home.
